Set Up
PMC Person in Charge
● If air con is required proceed to the door “office” open the door and on the wall
behind the door are 4 switches. Press all 4 switches to on.
● Scan the stadium for obstacles and remove balls, chairs, bins etc off the
playing area.
● Proceed to the storeroom and unlock it, enabling access to stored equipment
or supplies. Additionally, switch on the lights in the storeroom for better
visibility.
● Gather the two yellow bags containing the paddles, balls. display signs,
incident report book, QR code sign and take them to front entry area. The
code to open bags is 421.
● Return to the storeroom and deliver nets to the sides of each stadium. Not
interfering with any current court users.
● If any early players arrive, they may set up nets to the sides of the basketball
stadiums. Do not set up on the courts. At the start time of the session the
nets may be moved into position.
● Display the following documents at the Front area: “Pickleball Etiquette”,
“PMC Waiver”, “Safety on Court” and QR code for child protection.
● Use the tie straps located in the side pockets of yellow bags to fix the large
room dividing net to the walls and close in the middle to reduce balls
travelling across stadiums.
● Erect the safety sign near the front door area.
● At the start time of the session raise all basketball rings.
PMC Volunteer Duties
● Check for water on the basketball courts (can occur after heavy rain or
condensation from the roof during cold weather). Wipe dry wet areas.

● When greeting players, smile and greet each person by their name (if you
know their name) or ask for their name, scroll to their name and check them
in. Ask them their preferred playing level. The social play courts are closest to
the entry, and the Intermediate/Advanced play is behind the room dividing net.
● If there are any persons under the age of 18 accompanying the player, the
player must complete a “Child Protection & Safety – 2024” form by scanning
the QR code on display at the registration desk.
● Ask first time players to wait in the entrance area until the Person In Charge
can run through the Induction.
● Be assertive (without being unfriendly). Do not allow players to wave to you
and continue on their way, until you have checked them in. If it is a double
session and they are early for their session, advise them to wait for their
session time to start.
DURING THE SESSION
- Watch for fair play and fair rotations and assist any players who may need
encouragement . Make sure players are not getting left out. - You may join in the play on Court as soon as check in and all duties are
covered. - Report any injury to the reception desk.
- Follow their instructions and also fill in a PMC Incident Report .
- Assist where you can.
Close Down
The close down / pack up procedure is essentially the reverse of the set-up
procedure. - Blow the whistle 5 min before the scheduled end to allow time to pack up.
- Insist to all players NOT to finish their current set.
- Dismantle the nets and pack all the parts into the carry bag. Keep the net on
the uprights and carefully roll up the net to avoid it becoming entangled. If in
doubt, please ask a Committee member for assistance.
● Remove the tie straps from the room dividing net. Equipment such as nets,
locked paddle bags and dismantled safety sign etc are to be returned to the
storage room. Lower the basketball hoops.
● Turn off the light in the storage room and pull the door closed.
● Check for any property (clothing, drink bottles etc.) that may have been left by
players.
